From September 1, peak season surcharges will be levied on North American routes

On the 8th, Hapag-Lloyd's official website announced that since September 1, goods shipped from East Asia (including China) to North America will be subject to peak season surcharge PSS (Peak Season Surcharge), PSS collection standard: 20-foot container: 480 US dollars, 40 feet and high cabinet 600 US dollars.

Previously, CMA CGM also announced a peak season surcharge! On July 20, CMA CGM issued an announcement stating that from August 21, 2023 (loading date), dry containers, reefers, overweight cargo and bulk cargo from Northeast Asia, Southeast Asia, Chinese mainland, Hong Kong SAR and Macao SAR of China, and Taiwan to South Africa will be levied at US$300 per TEU.
